Skype 7.18 for Windows

Skype 7.18 for Windows Now Available for Download

Microsoft has just released a new Skype version for Windows, so users already running the VoIP client on their PCs should update as soon as possible.

The main question is “why should we update?” but unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t specifically provide us with an answer, as the company has once again “forgotten” to come up with some release notes for this new version.

It does that a lot lately, and app or OS updates for Windows 10, for example, come without a change log, which is becoming increasingly frustrating for those who expect to get as much information as possible.

While there are no details on what we should expect from Skype 7.18, it’s probably safe to say that it’s all about bug fixes and performance improvements, so in case you’ve been experiencing issues with the application, this new version should correct all of them.

This particular version is only aimed at Windows computers and can be used on the desktop, as the Metro version that debuted with Windows 8 is no longer alive. Microsoft decided to discontinue it because it caused more confusion among Windows users, and it’s probably a good decision because the desktop client was a lot more popular anyway.

If you’re already using the app and want to update, just go ahead and download Skype for Windows, and you’re good to go.
