Open source software (OSS) refers to a software that is available free
with source code , under a license that ensures that derivative works
will also be available as source code, protects certain rights of the
original authors, and prohibits restrictions on how the software can be
used or who can use it.Open-source software can be
studied, changed, improved and redistributed provided that the source code
of developed software is also open. The ‘open’ in open source software
is intended in the philosophical sense of ‘open or free speech’ rather
than as a free (ie. no cost) product.
